"Design à4" was founded as a result from the friendship of Jean-Philippe Bonzon, Julia Modolo, Sven Tugwell and Gaële Girault at the Ecal-Ecole Cantonale d'Art de Lausanne.

The team does not have a defined style and is not concerned with having one. As a formula, their products reflect the search for a coherent design which combines simplicity and practicality. Their curiosity and critical sense bring them to discover clever systems in industrial and craft domains.

Different atmospheres may be created through two different and
independent light sources. One offers a work light and the other is
used for reading. The neon light is put on by a wall switch and the

Modular staple racks offering opportunities for different possibilities. Only an oak timber structure, plexiglass shelves and steel staples are necessary for the construction of these racks. Nodo by Julia Modolo

A wall-mounted reading lamp, inspired by the nautical world.
Comprises few components : a blown-glass lampshade, the electric wire, a cleat around which the electric wire is coiled, allowing for an easy setting of the desired height of the lampshade. The aim of this project was to create a lamp affordable by way of its simple installation and low cost.This permits its creation at low cost.
